A Message from the President
LHSPLA Coaches,
I hope everyone's training is going well and are looking forward to this years upcoming invitational and regional competitions. Please make sure that you fill out all of your school's information that will be due at the regional meet. Each school must complete the following items to compete in their respective regional meets:
1) Pay their LHSPLA dues for 2002.
2) Turn in their school's eligibility papers.
3) Fill out and turn an LHSPLA Registration Form.
I have already received this information from several schools. You can turn
in all of this information at your respective regional meet or mail it to me
at the address listed above.
As most of you have probably already know, the West Monroe Invitational and the ASH Invitational meets have switched dates. The West Monroe Invitational will be held on January 11th/12th with the ASH Invitational being held on the 18/19th of January. This change became necessary because of a conflict that ASH had with the use of their gym. Please contact either Casey Sanders at West Monroe or Duane Urbina at ASH for more information concerning the meets.
We will be using these two meets as sights to test more coaches to become LHSPLA certified officials. Please have someone on your staff sit for the test either at the West Monroe or the ASH Meet. The exams will be given on the Friday night and those coaches who pass the exam will sit for their practical part of the exam on Saturday.
If you have any questions, or need to contact me, please feel free to call me at (225) 753-3180, ext. 1465, fax me at (225) 755-2697 or e-mail me at baronichs@ehsbr.org. Looking forward to a great season of lifting.

The 2003 Division II State Meet will be held the weekend before the Division I State meet (last weekend in February) at a Division II school located in the North or West Regions. The 2003 State JV meet will be held during the third weekend in February at a Division I or II school in the North or West Regions. If no member school from the North or West Regions bid for the state JV meet, member schools from the East or the South may submit a bid. Schools planning to bid on these meets need to start getting their bids in order. Dates for the 2003 meets are:
